I am a terrible test taker so keep that in mind. I went to school in FL, not WA so I felt I knew nothing about the law here. I read this along with the pharmacists manual from the DEA website and barely squeaked by with EXACTLY a 75. I recommend reading THE DEA MANUAL TOO! That's probably what saved me. I took the test on 11/14/18.Pros- It gave me some sort of blueprint for studying otherwise I would have been everywhere. If I was confused about anything I'd google that specific law code.- Sometimes there was a brief repetition of concepts which I found useful for my learning style.- The tables on various practitioners prescriptive authority was SUPER USEFUL for my exam.Cons- Sometimes I had to reread sections to understand that the author was trying to point out differences between Fed and State laws although he does make an effort to distinguish them. Be sure to Identify them when reading- Lots of typos as mentioned by others- It was very dry and hard to read but I don't know if that's his fault. Law is extremely boring and for that reason, it took me 2.5 weeks to go through it twice. Others say it took them a weekend to go through once. I just didn't have the attention span for it.Currently, it's the only resource for WA and I got what I wanted (barely) so for that, I'd say it was worth it. In Hindsight, I'd buy this book again if I was studying because it did give me a sense of direction for what I needed to know.

Extremely horrible book...... unfortunately it’s the only book up there for Washington...... it’s easy to read and understand but when you go to the exam it’s different material that’s been tested on...... no headlines no underlines no bold fonts..... all same font..... super distracting

It's the best way to learn WA law. Passed the MPJE first try. It's just a shame there are spelling and grammatical errors on every page.

Read it, and used the PowerPoint the author made for his class. Failed the mpje by one point (74 out of the required 75)

Jeff has been involved with open source for over eleven years. He started using Linux professionally at the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he was a Senior Systems Administrator and Programmer for the Computer Science department. He most recently worked at the Oregon State University Open Source Lab (OSL) as the Operations Manager, providing technical and organizational leadership to the OSL while working closely with the many open source projects hosted there, including Drupal.org, the Linux Foundation, and the Apache Software Foundation.Jeff has extensive infrastructure experience, gained over the years. As the Operations Manager at OSU Open Source Lab -- the largest open source hosting infrastructure of its kind -- he led the infrastructure and development teams; he is deeply involved in the CentOS Linux build and release process as a member of the QA team; and he works as a volunteer for the drupal.org infrastructure team. Jeff currently maintains a number of packages for the Fedora Project and Fedora's Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL), and serves as the Lead Systems Engineer for multiple Tag1 clients. He lives in Vancouver, Washington.Narayan is a co-owner of Tag1 Consulting, who joined the team in 2008. I normally don't get much out of the O'Reilly books, and generally only skim them to get a basic idea what I should be searching for on the internet. This one was different. Even in areas where I thought I had already done a pretty good job of performance tuning, this book mentioned a few things that were worth checking. In areas where I knew I needed to put in a bit of effort still, it was a very valuable resource.The book does not really go into great depth on exactly what configuration you should use for a particular architecture, so expect to still have to put in a bit of effort and think through your own problems. It does, however, cover some unexpected performance draining scenarios that are likely to be very common even among reasonably experienced Drupal shops.

I couldn't get into this...probably because I bought the wrong book. I'm a developer looking to configure and custom build a system off of Drupal. However, this is really geared toward performance, troubleshooting and efficiency of deployment (as it says in the product description but goofball me didn't read before purchasing). It seems very good for it's topic, though.

Covers the very basics, but doesn't touch advanced configuration of things like memcache or apache. Good for beginners.

I'm in the middle of a very large Drupal deployment with over 4,000 Drupal sites and large volumes of traffic. I haven't gone through this book completely but so far I have found many of the chapters were able to fill major gaps in Drupal community documentation. It also felt like you were reading from actual experience and not theory or pretty pictures and flush. It looks like it covers every major choke point that I have been planning for as well as many that I didn't see coming.

This is a poor quality print of a wonderful book. The images aren't sharp; also, the red and blue color plates are much diminished, with a preponderance of the yellow. I have an early and excellent print of this book and the difference is striking.This was to be a gift, but the experience of the book is so diminished by the poor quality printing I had to return it.

This is a very old fashioned story that tells stories month by month of what this family used to do to celebrate things. The illustrations are fantastic and often brought me back to that world as a child. I was always hoping the 'July' story would happen for my birthday. This book fits well with Tasha Tudor's other book The Doll's Christmas. I also love to find the corgi dogs in each book.

This is a charming book by one of my favorite artists. She had a unique style and we miss her. Collecting her books has been a passion and they have made great wholesome books for gift giving.

Overall, I am impressed by the quality of this kit. The kit includes enough yarn to finish two Star Wars projects, specifically one each of Yoda and a Stormtrooper, and after that you will need to purchase additional yarn, fiberfill, safety eyes, and other assorted items to finish more of the characters. The kit does not say exactly what size the yarn is but it seems to be at most a worsted weight 4 and it appears to be acrylic and/or wool rather than cotton. It does state that the models shown in the book were made with either weight 4 or 3 but doesn't detail which is which.The colors of yarn included are: white, black, pale green, beige, and brown. Also included is a tapestry needle for seaming the figures and adding features with yarn, an inexpensive crochet hook in size 3.50 (US E/4), four plastic safety eyes and fiberfill. There are also fairly detailed instructions including many diagrams. Unfortunately, there are no directions included for how to place the safety eyes. I am sure that this information can be found on the internet with a simple search. The directions do tell you exactly where to place the eyes. I must admit that I won't be using these eyes but will instead find ones that I can purchase so all of my figures will be consistent. Either that or I will embroider eyes on using basic satin stitches.While the yarn in this kit is very nice, I will be using my own stash to be sure that the sizes, colors, look, and feel of my characters are consistent. The instructions are detailed but I don't think that this is a project for most beginners. It uses techniques that crocheters with a bit more experience would feel comfortable with. If you are a beginner, just be sure you have access to someone or a website that can give you answers if you have any questions about the instructions.The book includes instructions for 12 Star Wars figures: Yoda, Stormtrooper, C-3PO, Princess Leia, Wicket the Ewok, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. In addition to the patterns, there are many pictures of scenes of the characters from the actual movies - really fun for any Star Wars fan to have included.The hook is okay but I prefer to use my own for ergonomic reasons. The characters look to be fairly small - if you want to make them larger, use thicker yarn and larger hooks. The instructions should work well no matter the size. The tapestry needle is decent and works well for its purpose.I have purchased and crocheted other kits from this company (the Peanuts and Classic Disney) as well as one distributed by another company but which looks exactly like this brand with a slightly different box (Disney Winnie the Pooh). The instructions in the kits are all very similar as are the materials. I have been very impressed with the previous kits and believe this one will be just as good.On the whole, I really like the kit and the instructions and recommend it to an intermediate or above crocheter without hesitation.

Lucy Collin is a very talented 5-Star amigurumi designer. With the exception of Darth Vader, who unfortunately looks a little like a poodle man, the characters look amazing. The 3-Star review is for the Thunder Bay Press publishing company who produced this kit.The instructions aren't presented with a beginner in mind. Not sure this is entirely the fault of Lucy Collin's the author. If you are a beginner, and ambitious, you can you-tube plenty of tutorials to help you through. As an intermediate to advanced crocheter myself, I find these instructions fair. I'm not familiar with needlepoint and the explanations in this book are very vague when it comes to the finishing touches that require the needlepoint skill set (you-tube helps in this area). Also stuffing is a big part of shaping the dolls and the book does not do a good job of offering tips in that department. I found while making Yoda it was better to stuff him at different intervals than what was suggested. My last gripe regarding the instruction book itself is that it is soft-covered and glue bound in a way that does not stay open to the page you are working on.Materials: As one reviewer pointed out, the washers for the safety eyes are almost useless. I had to figure out a way to stretch them out to get them to work. Very frustrating. The yarn it comes with frays really easily so you have to be extra careful.Personally, I would prefer to pay a bit more and have the kit come with more of the materials needed to make at least most of the projects. Finding the correct size and color of eyes is not always easy and color matching the yarn is a challenge to get an authentic look.Overall: If you love Star Wars and crochet and are looking for inspiration I recommend this kit. Just be aware there may be some researching of online tutorials needed. You'll also need access to a well stocked specialty yarn store. Michael's and JoAnn's Fabrics don't carry the safety eyes and color matching yarn is challenging. There is no listing with this kit of brands that carry the yarns used to make the rest of the dolls so you are on your own. Despite the negatives I'm excited to try and make as many of these as I can!Update: There is an error on page 19 of Yoda's robe section. Row 6 should end with a ch 1 turn. Also on page 18 at the top Round 20 I only did BLO (back loops only) for the regular stitches. I went in both loops for the 3dc pop stitches to make the toes stand out more and I think it helps him balance better.And a note for beginners: when the instructions say 'x' in next st (at the beginning of a row when not working in the round) they mean not the chain but into the last single crochet you made from the previous round. Things like this are not explained in the book.

This is an actor's perspective on film, which is different from a manual on how to act on camera. I have a theatre background, so it was helpful for me to hear tips and tricks from a performer's point of view. The catch is that you can watch the video on this study on youtube, so the purchasing the book isn't really necessary.

This book was in great condition, but it wouldn’t have mattered how it would have looked because the book is so rich with invaluable advice, with a comfortable writing style like listening to a story by the fireplace. I highly recommend this book for any actor who wishes to be on film.

I first saw the actual physical course on the BBC. As such you should also get yourself a DVD set, if available. The book stands well on its own though. It really focuses on practical professional techniques in terms of acting, and how to relate to the people around you, including the director, on set. It also contains practical advice on how to memorize your lines and prepare for a performance in general. All in all, a good back to basics approach to acting in film and a thorough enjoyment to read, considering various anecdotes that add to the reading experience.

I studied film at New York University, and I feel like I learned more about how to direct and work with actors reading this book than in any of the classes I took in college. Michael Caine gives a great description of how actors work each other, directors, and other people in the crew, and gives practical advice on the way he thinks (and it seems likely how most actors think) when preparing to be on film. This is a must-read for anyone interested in the creative side of filmmaking.

This a book filled with humor, intelligence and subtlety. Some actors are good but not very smart, it happens. Caine is extremely smart and wrote a good book. It goes from the difference between a movie and a play to technical advice to actors on the set and includes how to behave on and off the set. There are a lot of funny stories, but each of them is a lesson, so young actors better read this twice. Non-actors will be delighted by the humanity of the book.There are plenty of books called "how to be successful", usually very pedestrian. If you are tempted to buy one, try "Acting in film" instead; it is full of advice that applies to scientists as well as it does to actors. Indeed I had to laugh several times when I read it: some advices that Caine gives are just the same as what I used to say to young geochemists. For instance: this (acting or being a chemist) is an expensive business: show on time and be reliable.

I never thought I'd be taking advice from Alfred from The Dark Knight trilogy, lol. I'm a young guy so that's where I know Mr. Caine from :)This is a great read for actors looking for knowledge and tips on acting in film. Good for filmmakers, too. Probably requires several read-throughs as you progress during your career in film/television!Highly recommended!

A great book, straight to the point! It is a book about movie acting and it will teach you exactly that - how movie acting is different from acting in the theater. Michael Cane uses a lot of vivid examples to prove his point and to give a number of priceless tips on how to improve your acting. His passion for acting is contagious and inspiring!

Enjoyable book for actors in general, even if they're not appearing in movies. Lots of good advice, even about basic things like learning your lines.I thought the book was rather bitsy in the sense that it seemed to deal with one topic then skip suddenly to another. Apparently it's a transcript of a masterclass that Caine did some time ago, which explains its style. And it's quite short (there are a lot of photos), something that isn't obvious as an ebook until you find it's suddenly ended (!)

First I am an RN (an OLD RN) and to me modern Nursing began with Miss Nightingale. Prior to her works hospitals were a place to be feared. Nurses were women who were paid in Port Wine and worked 20 hour days carrying slop buckets and then delivering meal trays or changing bandages. Miss Nightingale along with Dr Ignaz Semmelweis on th emedical side,brought the simple idea of cleanliness equals health to the public. The simple act of hand washing and circulating air by opening windows made dramatic changes in a patient's chance of survival. Prior to that era doctors would go from autopsy to surgery to office hours and never wash their hands or change their bloody coat. (That's just nasty isn't it?)Now the younger Nurses I know say Miss Nightingale was old fashioned and something of a prude as it came to what a Nurse is. Well maybe so, but if it had not been for someone beginning a school to educate Professional Nurses there would not BE the career/calling/occupation of A NURSE for the past century or more. We don't wear aprons, don't wear caps, don't salute the doctors, but we DO make all the difference in patient care. Thank you Miss Nightingale for being A NURSE!I downloaded this as a free book, but just as well would have paid for a hard copy as it is a classic beauty in my opinion.

This is a classic and I recommend that it be read by all nurses. Nightingale was a pioneer. She established the dignity and importance of educated nursing care for the care of the sick -- and for the health of the community. While it may seem quaint at some points, the importance of her basic insistence on sanitation cannot be over emphasized. It was a new idea in Victorian England! It remains very important in modern health care with the rise of super infections which resist antibiotics. Note: The first antibiotic was not available to health care of that era -- the first antibiotic was penicillin, used initially to treat sypillis in soldiers during WW II.

Remember, clean the bedpan after every use. Once a day is not often enough. Open a window so you patient doesn't smother in the stink.Did someone really have to tell us these things? Yes, someone did. And Florence did so, in a clear and precise manner with a touch of wit. I wish more people knew of her insight and wit, which survives to this day. On women's dress in the Victorian age she says, "the dress of women is daily more and more unfitting them for any mission or usefulness." and then jokes, "every woman now either shuffles or waddles" from all the crinoline and lace. In regards to visitors she advises nurses that the patient should not be surprised "except by thieves."And yet there are other gems here that modern nurses will see as well, like informing her readers that it is rude to talk to the doctor about them in their hearing or that you should sit and not appeared rushed when patients need to talk.

Much of what is contained in this book will be recognized by nurses today. The need for sanitation, healthy food, and plain common sense is relevant today. Without Florence Nightingale nursing would not be the respected profession it is today. I referenced this book several times when writing papers for my BSN and MSN. Miss Nightingale was also a statistician whose work is still recognized today. She put her statistical data to use in convincing those in power that reforms in healthcare needed to take place. Miss Nightingale could have, with her large private income, lived in the lap of luxury but instead went to the Crimea and provided care to those in great need. That experience is the basis for the nursing care we provide today.

I know this is a classic piece of nursing history and Florence certainly doesn't need my approval - she has already endured. But the format of this version is easy to read and follow. I liked that part a lot.I read this as a requirement for a class, but in the end, wondered why I had never read it before that? The class drew comparisons between then and now - and that made it extremely interesting to read.Anyone in the medical field should read this at least once.The language might put some off (Florence didn't speak modern English of course), but the reasonably intelligent can get through the language from long ago just fine. I enjoyed that challenge. It's a short read if the challenge of the language puts anyone off.

As a Registered Nurse for over 26 years, I have never read this work before. It was free on Kindle and came highly recommended. What a wonderful glimpse of the foundations of nursing. Although it can be viewed as a historical text, it also is fine contemporary reading. As nurses, we become so focused on the science and technology,(and dare I say, overrun by the weight of our workloads and liability that comes with it) the ability to "minister" to the human being before us is lost.. daily barriers prevent us from providing the "care" that is fundamental. Interventions such as light, fresh air, sleep and comfort and "quieting of the mind from excessive worry" are not just interventions to be used in the absence of technology but as an important adjunct to it. Also in the spirit of taking care of ourselves, this work contains valuable insights for us as well. Elegant historical prose is refreshing. She was indeed a wise visionary. As I was reading, I wondered what she would say about nursing today...

Glad to get another book for my library to replace other nursing books lost in the house fire. I absolutely LOVE Florence Nightingale.

Ms. Nightingale was an extremely intelligent and severe woman. I wish I had met her in person. However, this discussion on good nursing is inspiring, but a little redundant at times. It is actually useful to anyone caring for sick people, even a parent, sitter, or nurse's aide.
