I belong to the SGI-USA Organization of Buddhism. This man, the author, Richard Causton, single handedly led the propagation of this religious movement in England as a pioneer in the late 70's and 80's (I believe) - in any case, YouTube has a Richard Causton channel and I was amazed how simply and profoundly he describes the basics of this Buddhism. If you are interested in learning about this practice and his lectures - I recommend this book and the YouTube Videos (some of them are poor quality - but most of them are fantastic, if you ask me). I purchased 3 or 4 of these books from various sellers to give to friends (as I think it is out of print now). It's a great book to understand the basics of Nichiren Shosu's practice of Buddhism through the SGI Organization, from a layman's perspective. I was inspired in my practice after listening to him.

Loved the book. It explained a lot about Buddhism and I found it very interesting and thought provoking. It gave me a different perspective on how I viewed things in my life and life in general. I wasn't really interested in the organization (SGI) part of the book. Nothing personal, I just think a persons beliefs are their own and it's not a group participation activity. We each have our own perceptions and paths in our life. I would just rather spend the time I have on this earth exploring and mastering my path and experiences and this book has added to both of those.

Richard Causton makes understanding Buddhism easy. He invites us to be happy and live well through an accessible daily practice of Buddhism. But even better, he helps us bring a Buddhist perspective into everything that happens in every day life! Living an elevated, healthy life is available to everyone, and this book is the HOW TO of BUDDHISM! Don't miss it!

The author explains the buddhist concepts the SGI proclaim to follow in a clear and concise manner. The examples provided are very easy to understand. The best explanation I have read and had have since becoming a member in the 1999.

It gives an in depth explanation about practicing Nichiren Buddhism. What I love most about it is about the Ten Worlds and what they can become, example how anger can actually become compassion, etc.

I wanted a book beyond that available in the SGI bookshops.This is a great book, much more in-depth than anything I have found there.

I gift this book to my seeking friends. Succinctly explains Nichiren Buddhism.

I purchased this book several months ago. It was used and in fair condition. But due to the fact I read and reread it the book started to fall apart. Inspite of the scotch tape! So I ordered one again in mint condition (used). This book explains so thoroughly Nichiren Buddhism that for a beginner like me it was a true gift. This is my favorite roleplaying game rules system yet. It is especially suited to games that feel more realistic.The dice mechanic allows for some rolls to follow a bell curve and for others to have a long tail (8-, 9-, and 10- agains). For me this flexibility allows for the greatest balance of simiplicity and verisimilitude in any roleplaying game system.I prefer health levels to the hit points of other games.You can run a solid game involving ordinary people with just this book. You could use it as the rule system for any setting.The "Combat Hacks" in the book Armory, Reloaded include many ways to modify the rules system to suit your style of play, from grittier to more over-the-top.

In the WoD series this book is the meat. All others are flavor.I love this book. The concept that everything I need to run any WoD game regardless of the flavor text used, I can refer to one core book. Combat, actions, reactions, flaws, merits, it's all here.Biggest Con - Too much fluff. For a core book that deals primarily with mechanics, it is not easy to find any particular piece of information. The organization of the book could be better, but for running any WoD game, or playing one, this is a must buy.

This rulebook not only explains how to roleplay this tricky scenario, but it also inspires the player in a positive way. I had purchased another book in this genre before, but it was rather depressing. The WOD book, by contrast, makes the reader want to create his character and start roleplaying as soon as possible.This book contains rules and helpful information and tips for character creation, various potential scenarios, weapons, tools, movement, combat and other useful information. It also furnishes some examples of types of characters, although I get a bit confused on the number of dots beginning players are allowed, for character development.WOD is a great book to start your monster-hunting adventures.

As the narrator or part of the group of players, you can either expand on this themes to create a thrilling atmosphere of dread and foreboding, or you can create your own plots from scratch just as if you were directing your own film with the help of the rest of the team. Sit down, read the magnificent flavour texts and stories within the rulebook and begin planning environments, characters and twists that would have you filled with edge-of-your-seat anticipation and emotion. I found this system a few years back and it has become my favorite RPG. This book serves as the core rules for all of the expansions (i.e. Vampire: the Requiem and Werewolf: the Forsaken)with lost of companion books, so combining pretty much any supernatural elements is seamless. While I have never been a huge fan of D&D I have played lots of D20 systems. The D10 system here is easy to learn and it has exploding dice (10 again), which I always prefer. World of darkness is the best system that I've seen for modern day settings. Also, it is the only one that I've come across that allows for a normal human character to stand a chance in a fantasy encounter.I recommend this game for anyone that's a fan of Buffy, Supernatural, Zombies, Vampires, Ghosts or pretty much any sort of horror genre.

This book is essential in order to play one of the core setting books such as Vampire the Requiem, Werewolf the Forsaken and Mage the Awakening. This book provides all the core rules and mechanics for character creation, combat, actions and the World of Darkness setting, a fictional world much like ours where the supernatural exists. White Wolf has produced books for the World of Darkness, their core game setting for many years, but this version presents a new "reboot" or re-imagining of their game world. Many of the mechanics have been fixed, such as massive dice pools which resulted in having more chances for a botch. Additionally, the game makes use of the common everyday Joe mortal as the basic character. You begin as a mortal and then may acquire one of the supernatural templates such as vampire, werewolf or mage.The introduction of virtures and vices adds an element of roleplaying that was missing in the previous version. This was my first purchase in this game system, and I haven't played it yet, but thought it was very well done. I don't have any previous WoD system to compare it to, but it seems there are a lot of older gamers who want to relive the glory days of previous editions. I thought this gave a lot of great example stories, and a lot of guidelines for creating a character, while still allowing for the flexibility of a storytelling genre. Like I said, I haven't played any WoD game yet, but this was a fun read, and I'm interested.

This book is so powerful in teaching why every single thought we have is important, how it guides us towards a destiny, and how important it is for us to learn how to think and feel in alignment with what we really, really want to experience in our lives. When reading this book I realized how I had gotten off track in doing this myself, and how this had been negatively impacting my life. In addition, I was able to look at the people in my life and see how the successful ones live their life in alignment with what's recommended in this book, and how those who have been struggling haven't been doing this. As a direct result of all this, I am now watching my thoughts and feelings, redirecting the negative ones into positive, much more empowering ones, and I feel I'm on track once again to living the life that I've really imagined.

I own this and Ask and It Is Given. I have to say these books have changed my life and am already rereading them. I like the kindle versions because I can add bookmarks, which are nearly every page. I always thought I had a good attitude in life but felt that I was not breaking past a certain point. These books helped me realize that I was not allowing the things I wanted to manifest. As soon as I changed this pattern of thought, it was like flipping the light switch on. This book is not only about money, I feel the title is a marketing ploy, the middle section is about health and the end is about career. I just got through cancer and was told by some friends that I had somehow brought it on myself. I've never felt good about believing that people can invite illness, tragedy, even death. After reading sections of this book, I can see the point of view, I'm not totally convinced but I'm more open to understanding. In general, these books do offer a perspective that is wise and grounded in common sense. That's why I like them. They're not asking you to believe or have faith in things that quite honestly don't make sense. All I know is I feel good and great things are happening in my life.

This book is not only about money, it is about health, career, etc. It teaches us that it is easier to monitor our feelings than it is our thoughts as we all have an inbuilt Emotional Guidance System that uses our negative feelings to alert us that we are working against our own best self-interests, while our positive feelings indicate that we are aligned with our Inner Being and are vibrationally creating good things. We have to make the present moment as joyful as possible in order to create a better future for ourselves. I wholeheartedly recommend this book. Abraham is definitely one of my favorite teachers.
