Got this to help my daughter learn to program with some fun projects, using starwars characters. Projects seem good enough. The book will be easy enough for her to follow, with some parental guidance.But, No Sprites. That takes a lot of the fun away. I read through the whole book expecting to come across someplace to download the sprites used in the book, but instead they spend a lot of time describing how you can draw them.Without spending hours creating sprites, that won't be as good as what is in the book, this is just another getting started with scratch book.

This product is deceptive. Star Wars sprites are unavailable and the instructions are just plain bad. Avoid this for your kid.

So disappointing to find out that the assets for these "tutorials" are nowhere to be found. I pre-ordered this book based on the premise ... learning Scratch with Star Wars. My kids have been struggling to get into Scratch programming, and I thought this would be a good way to get them into it (it also helps that I am a Star Wars fan) I opened it up to begin a lesson with my kids and looked at the book back and forth to find the link to download the Star Wars-y assets and there was no link. Apparently the author of the book has so much faith in their audience that each of the exercises suggests "you can draw your own" characters, sprites, etc. I'm sorry, the only reason I bought this book was for the Star Wars parts and without them I might as well be using the free on-line Scratch tutorials. Don't waste your time with this book. I am returning it.

Don't be mislead by the pixel artwork. The text of the book is framed with Star Wars characters and themes, but you have to draw your own artwork for your program. It would have been better off if the Star Wars characters were photographs or drawn in a cartoony style so as to not suggest there might be sprites available.

How can you market a Star Wars Coding Project without making available Star Wars Images? My daughter was very excited to get the books, but immediately got rid of it when she figured out she had to make the sprites herself. She wants to code, not draw.

Good exercises, but a book targeted at kids should really include the artwork. My daughter gets bogged down and quits when she has to try to draw pixel art.

Projects are a little complex for a beginner.

I was already quite aware of the dangers - yes, _DANGERS_ - that can come to roost & inflict paranormal havoc on those innocent (and/or cocky) individuals who make the terrible mistake of buying an Ouija board. "It's just a game..."None of the people enjoyed the demonic terrors that infested their homes & lives because they used an Ouija board - not just in this book, but the terrified people whose terrors are seen on T.V. & YouTube, as well.You will never find a book about anything good that came about by using any kind of "spirit board." That's because, given the smallest of invitations, evil entities bent on the users' misery, weakness, & actual physical harm (up to & including deaths) will come through, & wreak havoc. Demons LIE, & they pretend to be whatever it thinks will sucker people in. They try to increase their powers on our plane of existence, usually by pretending to be some "good" spirit, (classic examples used by demons are girls that died young, people who were killed in accidents, or deceased relatives.) Then they give more enticing "hints" to egg on naive users to continue & increase their use of the board. Eventually, the demons won't need a board or people to manifest on our plane of existence. They are now powerful entities hell-bent on inflicting utter chaos on our plane. At first, it's just knocks, bangs, & sometimes scratching from inside the walls. The demon then ups the ante by actually physically attacking the boards' users & their families. Troublesome, annoying, then more serious events occur with increasing frequency. The affected people are at the mercy of a demon. This demon will continue with terrors; driving their target into mental, emotional, physical, & spiritual exhaustion. These actions against their "target" are simply wearing the victim's will down toward the "end game." For the demon, this "tormentng" is crushing a human's will, & taking that person's soul - turning that person's soul to evil. The person the demon has crushed will be possessed; that person is NO LONGER IN CONTROL. They will do whatever the demon chooses. The possessed will harm themselves, harm their family & friends, & doing things that person, pre-possessed, would never have done. The demon will be trying to force that person to turn away from God.SO - With that being said, are you going to buy that board, open that vortex, & suffer for yourself the terrifying existence, the horrors, like the people whose stories fill this book, & all the T.V. programs, - even YouTube?AND - don't forget, your family & friends get dragged into this. Do you think they'd be happy with this hot mess dumped on them because you wanted to play around with something you know nothing about? Do you think they'd enjoy watching you being slowly torn to pieces, & your personality go from warm & loving to cruel & nasty?As they say, "it's just a game..." Uh, NO - this isn't a game. It's not Monopoly. It's a ticket to turn your life into a train wreck, & drag everyone you know & love with you.

Obviously, Some really bad things can and do happen to folks that venture into this board game. The people that share these horrific stories of infestations and demonic possession are many throughout history. The Ouija Board is a vehicle which makes it easy for negative spirits and demonic forces to enter this plane of existence. The Ouija Board is a notorious pass-key to Absolute Terror...

Instead of long, drawn out stories that tend to become tedious, this book gives case after case in a nutshell the message is very clear...any form of Ouija board use is extremely dangerous. A must read for anyone considering dabbling with spirit communication.

I loved this book. I have read many books about the paranormal and after a while they all seem the same, however I read this straight through. Very interesting and if you're thinking of using a Ouija board heed these warnings. Enjoy!

I played with a Ouija board when I was a kid. Fortunately, nothing happened. Maybe the spirits recognized we were a bunch of kids. I don't know. I've never played with one since and never will.

This was a great book! I knew some of the stuff about ouija boards and I knew that people shouldn't play them, but this book went into great detail about "true stories" of people that messed with the board and "real bad things" happened to a lot of people. It was a very interesting book!

It is a very good idea to read up on these cautionary tales because many of them ring true. Protect yourself and protect your children from a real enemy. Stay away from any Ouija boards, home made or otherwise. They are indeed portals to a waiting demonic cesspool that few if any escape unharmed. Give your heart to Jesus Christ and you will never regret it!

Okay, the pen name is cheesy. This book holds accounts from witnesses to the 'game turned nightmare'. Almost a cautionary set of tales, these stories will make you think twice about putting your hands on the planchette. Well done.
