We went on a 10 day trip to the Rockies & let me tell you, I was inseparable with this book. It covered everything from A-Z. Especially helpfull for choosing hikes, camp sites, and had tons of information on different places in the towns. I could always find an address, phone #, operation hours, etc.When researching on which guide book was the best for me to take on this trip, I came across this one & another guide book (a more recent publication). But when I read the reviews about the other guide book, people were saying that it was mainly concentrating on hikes, and I knew that I wanted a little bit of everything. Plus when it comes to doing hikes, you can always find more detailed information on that at the parks' info centers.The only con of this book is that it is an older publication, therefore expect prices to be higher!But overall, I am very glad that I chose to take this guide book on our trip. It definitely gave me reassurance that we were getting the most out of our time spent there.

My wife ordered this book in preparation of an upcoming vacation. We are using it as a travel guide for a fly by the seat of your pants trip.No schedule, no groups, no time table.

Nice concise descriptions and good details of places to see, visit, and things to do. Easy to follow format and the index was surprisingly good. Good tips for hiking in the Canadian Rockies. Nice small size made it easy to keep this resource in a backpack pocket.

This book is very well organized. I have read it from cover to cover planning my trip. I also bought a similar book from Lonely Planet and the Frommers book is much better.

Disappointed that it is a 2008 edition. I hope that the information is not too out of date for a planned trip this summer. It's list price was $12.99 and I paid $27 which is rather inflated I think.

The book itself seemed fine enough but I didn't get why it cost $62.00 for a small paperback that in 2008 only cost $12.99.There is no indication it is out of print or some incredibly valuable book to command that type of price.

I bought this travel guide used for ~$4.00. Came on a timely base and it was in very good shape. A new book was ~$48.00 not bad for a one-time vacation guide.

An insightful blend of theory and practice, game developers, testers and designers weigh in on every aspect possible to cover in these volumes lengths. Everything from the social and communal aspects of gaming to the mechanics of the gameplay are debated on, theorized about and tested against different metrics. Also, the Rules of Play book has suggested projects or school curriculum at the end of many chapters, to put these ideas into practice in a practical way. While most Design books are largely fluff with some interesting concepts and a brief history of video games, this book leaves them all in the dust with it's hard hitting approach and wisdom gleaned from decades of Game Design and Development and Play Testing. Highly recommended for anyone with aspirations to be a Game Designer.

Getting this book is a lot like googling "Game Design Article" - you have to do a lot of sifting of your own. Many of these articles aren't even about game design, they're just some story that happens to involve a videogame. Plenty of hot-air articles in here, and the occasional quality article. Why someone would want to have this when they have an internet connection is beyond me. Just go browse Gamasutra and you'll get the same experience.

I'm a leader at a AAA mobile game company. I looked at this book for supplemental reading.As I scanned through the list of essays, the essay authors are one male name after another. Amongst the 30-plus essays, I only saw one female author. I want a balanced view of game design, so that I can design for a broad audience. This book does not give that.One of this book's essays is about designing games for women. The editors wrote an intro about the importance of including an essay about gender and diversity in games. They chose a white man as the author for that too. The author was not even a game designer, but an academic professor in the communications field.The book contains essays from game fans, philosophers, anthropologists. The authors chose men for all of those, except for one single female author out of 30+ essays.My company makes a top-grossing game that appeals to a broad audience. I find this book useless for my efforts at supplemental learning.I recommend you do not buy this book, and look for a more accurate view of how to design games.

This book collects a wide variety of critical thought on game design and the theory of games. As the subtitle states, it's a nice companion to "Rules of Play", but "Rules of Play" is by no means necessary to appreciate this book.I like that it has a broad mix of theoretical articles from academics and more practical discussions from practicing game designers. It has most of the seminal articles I would expect to find in a summary of the field, as well as some I was not previously familiar with, but still enjoyed. As with any collection, not every piece was my cup of tea, but the overall quality was higher than I expected.If you like games, this will make you think about how they work. It won't give you much day to day practical advice on making games, but sometimes it's good to think outside the practical. As a professional video game designer, I like things that make me think in new ways.

Curious minds that have delighted in games will love this book! I adored the compilation of shared thoughts from "Who's Who" in game design. Aesthetically, the book is so cute! My copy sits on my coffee table. The book had me at the cover...

I was surfing looking for a great/good book to read and came across this fantastic , beautiful medical romance novel. OMG this book had hooked from the 1st to the last page. I just could not the down down as I wanted to see if this couple would get their HEA which was so deseverving of them. This book was filled with sweet romance, drama and suspense thus making it so interesting. I cannot begin to tell how much I love love this awesome book. The hero, Max and the heroine , Liza were dynamic and Max's daughter played such a important role in the book. The storyline was superb and the author's writng was so smooth and captivating.I have sinced purchase Book 2 which I am now reading.From reading about this author it seems that she new to the field of writing romance novel more so medical romance and may I say she did an excellent job of producing her first book.Congrata to you and look forward to reading many many more of your books..I recommend this beautiful medical romance novel to fans of this genre.

This was a good read. my only hang up was that i never learnt the out come of is ex wife wanting is daughterand I wanted to experience her parents meeting Sam and his daughter. one of the things I totally enjoyed about this book is that it is not saturated in sex. Thank you very much for a good read.

The characters and the story line captivated me from the beginning! I could not put this book down! If you are looking for a book that you can curl up with and characters you can relate to then this is the book for you!

I enjoyed this medical type romance. Can definitely understand our heroine's drive to succeed and become someone. A bit over the top about our hero's response after our heroine saves his daughter from chocking. But overall I liked this book.

This was an enjoyable read. It's a romance novel and medical book, it lived up to the description. I would like to hear more about this couple.

The romance kept the story spicy and Lisa’s story is quiet relatable not only to medical professionals but also to hardworking career women. Sometimes, we have to re-evaluate our lives & find out what really makes us happy. Such a sweet ending.❤️

I throughly enjoyed this book. It was intriguing, sexy and smart....so pretty much everything you look for in a man!! I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
