About the Author

Amy Eilert founded Cupcake Envy in 2006, just one year after relocating from New Jersey to Wake Forest, North Carolina. From the very beginning, Cupcake Envy made a big splash. Eilert and her cakes have been featured in local and national media outlets such as DailyCandy.com, Skirt Magazine, Brides Magazine and the Ugly Betty show. In 2009, Eilert began hosting weekly classes for students eager to learn new, accessible techniques in cupcake and mini cake design. She travels throughout the U.S. and Canada teaching classes and judging national cake competitions including That Takes The Cake Sugar Art and Cake Competition and Cakelove 2011. Eilert is also a certified instructor at CakeCentral.com.

More of a book about how to cover everything in fondant, not at all what I expected! More about making small cakes in all shapes held together by fondant!Not what I was looking for my niece! Ended giving it to our Library Book Sale! May float someone’s boat!

A fun book!! Amy gives such detail about how to make her cakelets!! Highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to bake these adorable little cakes!!! You won't be disappointed!!! Kudos to Amy!!!!

This is absolutely, hands down the best book for the beginner mini-cake and cupcake designer looking to wow their friends at family functions, picnics, birthday parties and office functions. I've always been envious of cake covered in fondant - but thought I'd either have to spend an arm and a leg to purchase custom cakes and cupcakes or spend hours upon hours in professional classes to learn how to sculpt and cover my own cakes in fondant. But thanks to Amy's book, I feel like I can get the ingredients I need from my local grocery store or craft store and knock out some impressive mini cakes in my own kitchen on a Saturday or Sunday! If you're curious about impressing your friends or bowling over your family - then get this book now! I can't wait until the next Cupcake Envy book comes out...the author/cake artist needs to keep the books coming!
