I have a couple Bible atlases (the Holman is also superb, especially for the narrative), but for the purpose of simply looking up locations, this is the best I've ever seen. Here are the strengths:1) Huge format, 15" x 10". This means that those myriad locations aren't jammed into a tiny space in the back of your bible -- if the index says "B5," you can actually find it.2) National Geographic maps. Nothing more need be said.3) Complete index.4) Brief narrative and some useful charts opposite each map. Some of the narratives are "Sunday-schoolish," but that's OK.5) Surprisingly good binding. I don't know bindery terms, but this is heavy, durable paper, stitched into three folios, and glued to a very heavy paper cover. For the price, I was expecting cheaper paper and glue only. With reasonable care, this book will last a good while.6) Price, price, price! Buy one for yourself, one for the church library, and one for every Sunday School room.Weak points are very minor, and don't detract at all:1) I can't imagine ever needing, or being interested in, a map of "Ezekiel's Vision of 12 Restored Tribes" (map 11).2) Maps 9 & 10, David/Solomon's Jerusalem and Second Temple Jerusalem, could easily have been put on a single page. I would love a map of modern Jerusalem, overlaying the ancient sites.3) Any attempt to put all of Paul's journeys on a single map, as here, is inevitably confusing. I would prefer a smaller, separate map for each.This is an amazing value: it belongs in every church, and on every Bible student's shelf.

A very clear, detailed set of maps of various eras in the Biblical lands. They are big enough to be useful in small groups. Yet they are not to big for individual use. Frankly, I have not seen such a large and detailed set of maps since I was a seminary student. The price was incredibly low for such a complete set of maps.

I am currently studying Kings and Chronicles. The map helps me to understand where the places are and has bible references with the area. Nice.

The maps in the CEB Study Bible are wonderful. As a result, when I discovered that this book was available, I ordered one. With the information given telling what each map is illustrating and which Bible book it can be found in, I find myself using the maps more than I ever did before. I attend an adult Bible study that has been meeting at 7 AM every Wednesday for breakfast and in depth study. The book is wonderful to use there because of the oversized maps and the strong material that they are printed on. I think every church should have one of these books available in its library.

Wonderful to be able to "see" where things are happening in the Bible, plus where things are happening in the world today

I love the bible. I love maps. I used to love National Geographic (and this is from that time). It will be great to help me explain the intertestimental period when I teach youth Sunday School this week.

Nice big print, big enough to 'feel' good to the kids when they need things pointed out on the maps. Very happy.
